Celebrating Juneteenth and Pride Month: Embracing Diversity and Inclusion

diversity and inclusion

Every June, the Martindale-Avvo team takes a moment to celebrate two significant events that hold great importance for civil and human rights attorneys and their clients: Juneteenth and Pride Month.

Juneteenth

  • Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, falls on June 19th and commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. It is a day to reflect upon our nation’s history and progress towards racial equality, while recognizing the ongoing work that still needs to be done to combat systemic racism.

Pride Month

  • Pride Month is an annual celebration of the LGBTQ+ community, its achievements, and the pursuit of equality, tolerance, and acceptance. It’s a month to reflect on legal and social progress made in conjunction with civil and human rights movements, while fostering an inclusive environment for all individuals regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

How We Help

With the largest legal presence on the web, Martindale-Avvo brings together a network of industry-leading brands that champion helping people find legal representation. Thousands of consumers turn to attorneys every day and it’s through this connection that we’re poised to facilitate and support.

We actively connect attorneys with people in need – and this is never more obvious than in a month where we celebrate diversity and recognize the obstacles overcome with the help of the legal industry at large. Our Q&A sections are bursting at the seams with people in need asking hard questions, and attorneys volunteering advice.

This safe platform is free – and anonymous –  to post questions. It’s also a great way for attorneys to showcase their expertise on complex legal issues and make a meaningful connection.

From discrimination in the workplace to protecting fundamental human rights, we are proud to connect advocates with those in need. Let’s use this month as an opportunity to reinforce our commitment to creating a safe and inclusive space for everyone. As a company, we salute the richness of our differences and actively foster an environment where every individual feels valued, accepted, and empowered.

If you have a human rights or discrimination issue, please use our forums (linked below in “sources”) to get the help you need. If you’re an attorney who would like to highlight your practice for these particular issues, please connect with us here
