ChatVantage Terms and Conditions

Everything you need to know about our service, ChatVantage.


These ChatVantage Terms and Conditions (“Terms and Conditions”) are an agreement between Client (also referred to as “you”) and MH Sub I, LLC dba Martindale-Avvo (“Martindale-Avvo”, “us,” “our,” or “we”). By using or accessing the ChatVantage services (the “Services”), Client will be bound by these Terms and Conditions, the Ngage Live Chat Terms and Conditions, our Privacy Policy, and any other legal notices, conditions, or guidelines we provide related to the Services. 

No Cost for Conversations:

Client shall not be required to pay any fee for Qualified Conversations (as defined herein) delivered through the ChatVantage service. There is no cost per Qualified Conversation and no minimum monthly charge.

Service Placement:

The ChatVantage Live Chat service  may appear on desktop and mobile versions of your Avvo and Lawyers.com Profiles,  other applicable Martindale-Avvo pages, and/or on your Martindale-Avvo hosted website.

Definition of a “Conversation”:

A “Conversation” is the delivery of a prospect’s contact information and must include either a phone number or email address with the intention  to be contacted by Client. To be eligible as a Qualified Conversation, the following conditions must be met:

(a) The inquiry must fall within the practice areas listed on the Client’s profile.

(b) The inquiry must fall within the Client’s geographic practice area.

(c) The prospect must be actively seeking legal services and agree to be contacted.

Non Qualified Conversations:

Any Conversation that does not meet the criteria outlined above will not be classified as a Qualified Conversation. Client will receive a courtesy notification of Conversations that do not meet eligibility to be a Qualified Conversation, and the Client agrees that such Conversation may be transferred, sold, resold, or referred to other attorneys by Martindale-Avvo at Matindale-Avvo’s sole discretion. The Client agrees not to use the information contained in any Conversations that are not determined to be Qualified for any purposes.

Dispute Process:

If a Conversation is incorrectly categorized as Qualified or not Qualified,  the Client must submit a request for review within 7 days of receiving the email with the Conversation details. If the Client does not request a review within 7 days of receiving the email with the Conversation details, then the Client waives the right to dispute the categorization. 

Beta Program Terms:

As ChatVantage is a beta program, Martindale-Avvo reserves the right to amend or discontinue the program at any time. We may post changes to these Terms and Conditions at any time, and any such changes will be applicable to all subsequent access to or use of the Services. In the event of material changes, Clients will be provided with at least 30 days’ notice before any changes are implemented.
